Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy
Watershed boundaries are the ridgetops or the high elevations around a
valley, and as such represent logical bounding areas for natural processes.
In the Golden Gate Natural Resource Area, our native plant nurseries
collect seeds and cuttings within watershed and subwatershed boundaries
to grow plants for reintroduction to the landscape after a construction
project, find and document rare plants, and track genetic change and
diversity to prevent mixing species across ridgetops.
